The Image of a lost soul is a short moralistic tale by turn of the century writer Saki, otherwise known as Hector Hugh Munro.
The aim of the brief was to create six illustrations following the events in Saki’s tale. For this particular project influences of victorian keep sake imagery, art nouveau and even manga were drawn upon.
A little random note. If you look carefully in the last three images you’ll notice a butterfly caught in a web. Seems kind of fitting, considering how sad the tale becomes towards the end.
